I loved Kerri Maniacalco’s “Stalking Jack The Ripper,” “Hunting Prince Dracula,” “Escaping From Houdini” and, “Capturing The Devil.” So when I heard about the new trilogy, I just knew I had to get the books!

I know I will be loving this new book by Nicholas Sparks as soon as I heard about its existence! Now I can’t wait to read it!!
I can’t be the only one who remembers the “Captain Underpants” books.
I used to love reading the comics that were in the middle of the books! If you know an elementary or middle school aged person who likes comic books, please have them read the “Captain Underpants” novels! I finally finished “Conceal, Don’t Feel” by Jen Calonita yesterday.
The book is about the Disney movie, “Frozen.” The book is part of the Disney A Twisted Tale series. In the book, Elsa and Anna didn’t know each other existed and Elsa didn’t know she had magical ice and snow powers. When the king and queen get lost at sea, Elsa regains her powers and memories of Anna come rushing in. Now to figure out her memories, Elsa goes in search for her missing sister. On the other hand, Anna has been living with her adoptive parents in the countryside baking for a living. Anna has a feeling that she needs to leave the countryside for the kingdom of Arendelle. She also has a feeling that she has to help someone that she has never met. So, when the kingdom is frozen by Elsa, Anna takes it as an opportunity to find out why she has these feelings, but she feels that she is the only one who can stop the weather Elsa created. Now Anna and Elsa are on a search for each other through the snow and ice to find each other and end the endless snow and get answers to why they were separated. I love Disney movies. I liked the movie. The book was a good retelling with a small twist. However, I do have something that I would change. The one thing that I would change is: what if Anna had the ice and snow powers instead of Elsa? Like, swap the powers from one sister to the other and see what happens? I think that this twist would capture readers more to see what would happen. Overall, the book is good. If you are a fan of Disney and like the twisted tale series, definitely get “Conceal, Don’t Feel” by Jen Calonita. Book rating 8.5/10 Would recommend. Who else remembers the book Frindle by Andrew Clements? I do. I talk about the book in the newest episode of my podcast. Click the link to hear what I have to say!!
So, I know that this isn’t book or reading related but I wanted to show pictures of me from today. I went to a wine tasting at a local winery and I had a good time! I would definitely go again!! I wanted to read today but at least I tried something different and new!
Since reading Rick Riordan’s books, I have learned so much about Greek, Egyptian, Roman, and Norse mythology without actually realizing that I was learning about mythology. That’s why I love his books! You learn while reading and I highly recommend his books to all ages!!
Let me start off by saying that this is entirely all my opinion. I am open to others’ opinions, and I hope you are open to mine. And there are going to be spoilers in this review.
I recently finished reading “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.” It is first in line out of six books. I am currently reading the second book, “Hollow City.” I decided to watch the movie adaptation to compare it to the book. I like doing that because I want to see if the movie captures the true essence of the book. I have to tell you that the “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” movie does not live up to the book at all. I’m sorry. I did not like it at all. There were so many changes that didn’t fit into the continuity of the book so far. Like, there is no inherent leader to the hollowgasts (hollows) and wrights and there was no fight at a carnival. And the fact that Olive and Bronwyn’s ages were flipped around as well as Olive and Emma’s powers were flipped. Now I understand that movie adaptations change some things but why did there need to be a carnival fight happen? It was not needed. The year of the loop changed from 1940 to 1943. I understand why the movie adaptation did not get a sequel. I mean, the movie was an adaptation for a book that is first in a series and needed to be dealt with as such. Like, why not make the movie on a cliffhanger to see if there was any way for sequels for the other books in the series? As I said, I read the book and I now wish that I hadn’t watched the movie and that the movie didn’t need to be made. With all that being said, I rate the movie 3/10. I rate the book 9.5/10. I am currently reading the rest of the books and will give a detailed review once I am done with them. Happy reading!! Want some books that are inspirational and motivational? Well, I suggest the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” Series. I read some of the books years ago and it related to me in a way I wasn’t expecting. I highly suggest the books, especially the teenage soul ones. Happy reading!!
