"Dangerous creatures & dangerous deception by kami garcia and margaret stohl
Books: Dangerous Creatures and Dangerous Deception
Author(s): Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Published in: 2014 and 2015
Publisher: Little Brown and Company
Summaries: Dangerous Creatures is about Ridley and Link going to New York so Link can join a Caster band. What they don't know is that someone from their past wants revenge. Will Ridley and Link be safe from their enemy, or will they go on the run?
Dangerous Deception is about how Nox and Link want to rescue Ridley from a dangerous foe. Will they be able to find Ridley, or will it be too late?
My Thoughts: I liked the spinoff. I kind of wish that the ending of the duology had a nice ending for Link. I didn't like the love triangle aspect, but it worked for the books. I wanted more songs from Link since he loved making music. Ridley could have turned Link down without playing with his feelings. Honestly, some of the characters weren't needed. Ethan and Lena could have come back to help. The books aren't bad. I liked seeing Link and Ridley. I was able to read these books in like two weeks or so. They were very easy to read. Very fast paced. I didn't expect to finish the books so fast but I'm glad I did.
Now I want to see how Liv and John's lives are in the UK. I would also like a sequel series on Amma, Macon, and Lila. But that is just me.

"lore" by Alexandra bracken
Title: "Lore"
Author: Alexandra Bracken
Published in: 2021
Published by: Hyperion
Summary: Lore comes from a Greek lineage. She is descended from a famous Greek hero. Many eons ago, Greek gods and goddesses tried to overthrow the king of the Olympians. It did not go well. The agon was started to punish the gods and goddesses who tried to kill the Olympian king, Zeus. Lore's family trained and fought in the agon for years. Well, Lore left after her family was brutally murdered. Lore was sucked back in after 7 years. Lore decides to get back in the hunt to avenge her family. Can Lore be able to remain her humanity and avenge her family?
My thoughts: I like mythology. So, I thought that this would be a great fit for me. To be honest, I liked the premise of the book. I kind of wish that the before years were in the beginning of the book instead of in the middle; but it does paint a better backdrop of what Lore went through in her life. I thought that more of the minor gods and goddesses should have made an appearance in the book. Hell, Zeus should have made an appearance because his children tried to take his spot. But this is totally my opinion. I also thought about how good of a goddess Lore and Castor would have been if they would have kept the godly powers.
The book is not a bad read. If you like mythology, this will be an easy read for you. It took me a while to read it because I'm a slow reader. And as I was reading, I thought this would make a good movie. I actually saw myself in the story fighting with the characters. Definitely check out this book if you want to broaden your reading.

"Beautiful creatures" series by kami garcia and margaret stohl
Books: Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness, Beautiful Chaos, Beautiful Redemption
Author(s): Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Publisher: Little Brown & Company
Published in: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.
Summary: a mortal teenaged boy named Ethan meets and falls in love with a girl named Lena who has powers. Together, they find out secrets pertaining to both the mortal world and magical world. Will Ethan and Lena figure out their destinies? Or will the world as they know it end?
My thoughts: The books were told from Ethan's point of view. The whole series took me about a year or so to read. I have to say that I liked the premise of the series. I wish that there was a way for a little more suspense. I was thoroughly entertained when I read the books. The plot twists had me in a choke hold. I didn't expect what was gonna come next. I wish that I could see the two villains actually team up against Lena and Ethan. But this is my opinion. I wish that there was Lena's point of view in all of the books. In my opinion, one of the characters needed to be with someone else. But again, my opinion. This series is an easy read. And if you know someone who would like this type of series, I highly recommend. Lastly, I'd say the age range for this series is about 14 and up.

"dreamland" by nicholas sparks
Book: "Dreamland."
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Publisher: Random House
Published in: 2022.
Summary: Colby meets Morgan in Florida when they both vacation there. The two music lovers meet and bond while performing and making music. On the other hand, Beverly is on the run with her son after escaping an abusive husband. What happens when the three meet is something no one sees coming.
My thoughts: The book is split into parts. The parts are split between Colby and Beverly. Yes, the book is about love. Love between two people, music and parental. The plot twist. I did not see it coming. I was gagged. It did explain some things going on. However, I think that the plot twist could have happened a little bit earlier in the book. Another thing, I wish that I could see how Morgan and Colby would grow in a long-distance relationship. But, nonetheless, I enjoyed the progression and how the story played out.
I liked this book. I am a big fan of Sparks and will read anything he writes.

"okoye: to the people" by ibi zoboi
Book: "Okoye: to the People"
Author: Ibi Zoboi
Publisher: Marvel Press/ Buena Vista Books, Inc
Published in: 2022.
Summary: Okoye, a new member of the Dora Milaje, who accompanies her king to New York for a humanitarian mission. While in New York, Okoye uncovers a plot regarding a drug that targets the neighborhood youth. Okoye teams up with her Captain and, a councilwoman to fight against the makers of the drug.
My thoughts: I should say that I love Okoye and Black Panther. I liked how we get a story of Okoye as she was starting out in the Dora Milaje. I do wish that there was more fighting in the book. If Okoye would have fought the antagonist, the climax would have been so much better. I also wish that the antagonist was seen getting shipped of to jail.
This is all my opinion. I can say that I liked the book. I read it in a week. That is fast for me. I was so engrossed by the story and the characters that I sped through the book like it was food. I needed to know what was gonna happen next.
If you love Marvel, especially Black Panther and the Dora Milaje, please check this novel out. You will be getting a glimpse of another side of Okoye.

"Dread nation" and "deathless divide" by justina ireland
Book(s): "Dread Nation" (2018), "Deathless Divide" (2020)
Author: Justina Ireland
Publisher: Balzer and Bray/ Harper Collins
Summary: about a 17-year-old girl named Jane McKeene, during the late 1800s, who is at a school for girls of color to learn how to fight and kill zombies that were risen from the dead. Well, as fate would have it, there are twists and turns no one expected, and Jane must figure out how to survive.
In all honesty, historical fiction is not a genre I normally read. However, I liked this duology. It is filled with fighting, inner conflict, love, although this is not the focal point. The progression of the series is good. I had no problems with that. I wish that there was a little more after the end of the second book: "Deathless Divide."
This is all my opinion. I actually want this duology to have more of a following. These books have potential to have a larger fanbase.
I recommend reading "Dread Nation" and "Deathless Divide." With all the twists and turns, you won't be disappointed.

“Mad honey” by jodi picoult and jennifer finney boylan
Book: “Mad Honey”
Author: Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan
Publisher: Ballantine Books
Year published: 2022
Summary: about a young teenaged girl who was killed. Was it an act of passion? Or was it a hate crime? Who killed the victim? The star athlete boyfriend? Or was it an accident?
The book is told between the murder victim and the accused mother.
My opinion: I liked how the book was structured. The chapters gave insight to the characters. The progression of the book was okay. It took me about a month or so; I’m a slow reader. I kinda wish we had a point of view from Asher, the boyfriend accused of the murder. That is just my opinion. I wanted to see what he felt when he was in jail and how he felt from his eyes. I know it is a book, but I get invested. I also wanted to see a note on depth scene of the investigation into the death of Lily. What the detective rationale was into arresting Asher. I like a lot of cop shows.
As always, Picoult researched the hell out of the criminal justice system. The transgender aspect of the book was well researched as well. I learned a good deal from reading “Mad Honey.” I honestly do not know Jennifer Finney Boylan; but I will say that what she contributed was well written and well welcomed.
I always think and say that you can learn a great deal from reading. “Mad Honey” is no exception. If you want to read a book that may open your eyes, please go check out this book! (If you haven’t done so already.)

"instant karma" by marissa meyer
Book: "Instant Karma"
Author: Marissa Meyer
Published in: 2020
Publisher: Rampion Books
Summary: About a girl named Prudence who wants to redo a science project with her lab partner. The lab partner's, Quint Erickson, only request, help out at an animal rescue center.
While at the rescue center, Prudence and Quint work together to make sure the animals are taken care of, and they also try to make some money to make sure the center stays open.
At a karaoke night, Prudence bumps her head and thinks she gets the power to dole out justice to people who have been mean or rude. She also thinks she gets the power to reward those who do nice things.
Well, Prudence is framed for something she didn't do, and she gets karmic punishment. With the help of Quint, Jude, and Morgan, they find out the truth and save the animal rescue center.
My Opinion: while the topic of the book is nice, I kind of wanted to see more people get karmic justice. I also wanted to see the actual villain get punished to the full extent of the law.
Otherwise, it is a cute book that focuses on rescuing animals and rehabilitating them so they can go back into their homes.
I liked how Meyer researched exactly what animal rescue centers do and how they raise money to stay open.
Would recommend.

"wish you were here" by Jodi picoult
Book: "Wish You Were Here"
Author: Jodi Picoult
Published in: 2021.
Publisher: Ballantine Books, imprint of Random House, division of Penguin Randon House LLC
Summary: About Diana O'Toole who goes to the Galapagos Islands when COVID-19 first hits the world. Diana works in the art business and her significant other is a doctor. They planned their life out. Diana and her significant other plan a trip to the Galapagos Islands right before the global pandemic hits. Diana goes at the urging of her boyfriend and get stuck on Isabela, one of the islands.
While on the island, Diana has to navigate the language barrier and how to find a way to live while trying to find a way to speak to her boyfriend and get home.
As Diana is on the island, she befriends two locals who show her around and tell her about the history of the Galapagos and their personal lives. All that changes after an outing with Gabriel, one of the locals Diana befriends.
This is where I stop summarizing because I don't want to spoil the book for those who have read it just yet.
My Opinion: I didn't see the twist coming. Picoult does a great job describing the Galapagos Islands. I felt like I was there. That is what a good author/storyteller does. I want to go see the locations of the island Picoult talks about in the book. See the tortoises and go snorkeling and swimming.
I also liked how Picoult described what doctors and hospital staff and personnel have to go through when dealing with COVID-19 when it first came out and up until now. How, when COVID first came out and people started getting sick, how doctors tried many different ways to save their patients. What I didn't know what that in the very first stages of the pandemic, those of who got sick and needed to be hospitalized, they were in the ICU of the hospitals, and when the patients tested negative, they had to go to rehab to regain the functions they lost if they were put on a vent.
Picoult made sure we were informed while still entertaining her audience.
Picoult also did a good job with talking about the art business world. I never gave a thought to what art auction houses go through to put a piece of art up for auction.
Granted, it took me a while to finish this book, but I am glad I did.
Would recommend.

4.) "A Map of Days" (2018)

8.) "Miss Peregrine's Museum of Wonders" (2022) a guide to the peculiar world
Author: Ransom Riggs
Summary: Jacob Portman travels to Europe with his father after the death of his beloved grandfather to see if the stories that Jacob's grandfather told him were real. While in Wales, Jacob, at first, struggles to find any actual evidence of what his grandfather told him; that is until one day he sees someone at a house his grandfather used to live in. So, he meets up with the someone and uncovers the truth. Along with the truth is surprises that will shock the reader and blow minds.
I don't want to spoil the series because I want those who haven't read it yet to experience the shock and awe of the books. I can tell you that the series does handle loops and peculiarities. Peculiarities like people who can handle fire, a girl who floats and many others. The time period is set between modern day and previous years like 1940 and other years in the 1900s and earlier.
This series took me a while to read. But I am glad I finally finished it. I was shocked when coming up to the plot twists and I never saw them coming. That's why they call them plot twists. The characters were loveable and somewhat relatable. When I was reading the series, I was jealous because now I want to travel to the locations mentioned in the series. Locations like London, Paris, and Wales.
When I finished the last book, it was bittersweet because I finally finished the whole series but I wanted something else pertaining to the books and characters.
The series is easy to read, and the progression was easy to follow.
This series is a series that you may want to read if you are looking for something new to read,

Tag Line: "What if the Blue Fairy wasn't supposed to help Pinocchio?"
Series: Disney Twisted Tales/A Twisted Tale
Summary: This twisted tale is about the Blue Fairy from the story of Pinocchio. This book is pretty much the origin story of how the Blue Fairy became the Blue Fairy and why she decided to grant Geppetto's wish for a child. The twisted tale also talks about the consequences of breaking rules and dealing with opposing forces to the Blue Fairy's good deeds.
To be honest, you won't believe your eyes when you read the whole book. I was shocked myself!
Since I don't want to spoil the book for those who haven't read this twisted tale yet, I will say that I am glad that I got to see how the fairies became to be and what they do to defeat evil forces. I also like that this book gives an alternative side to what happened when Geppetto and Pinocchio get into trouble. It did take me a while to read the book, but I am glad that I finished it.
If you haven't done so already, go check out this twisted tale centered around Pinocchio, Geppetto and, the Blue Fairy.

Book: "Almost There"

Tag Line: "What if Tiana made a deal that changed everything?"
Series: Disney Twisted Tales/A Twisted Tale
Summary: The book starts off where Tiana has the talisman that Dr. Facilier really wants. In order to get the talisman, Dr. Facilier aka the Shadow Man, appeals to Tiana. The appeal? The Shadow Man and his friends on the other side will bring back Tiana's dad from the dead, give Tiana her restaurant, and also restore Naveen back into a human. The catch is that Tiana must put something in the food of her restaurant. Also, Tiana must not mention the deal she made with Facilier or everything will go up in smoke. Well, after people memories are going away, a mysterious heavy fog, and a green slime permeating the water, Tiana knows something is wrong. All the while, Faciler must placate the friends on the other side if he wants true power over New Orleans. So, Tiana needs help with getting rid of the deal she made while also trying to fix the fog and the slime. How will she do it? Will Tiana right this wrong?
I liked the twist where Tiana makes the deal instead of Naveen. However, I wish that the climax came sooner than the last few pages of the book. I also wanted to see Roselande, Mama Odie and Facilier face off before his demise. The memories that Naveen was remembering needed to be a driving force to want to help Tiana figure out what was happening as well as Tiana trying to save her father and restaurant. I saw a little selfishness on Tiana's part in regards to that. But otherwise, I liked that someone else made the deal with Facilier. I could see this book as a movie or short film.
As always with the rest of the books in this series, I recommend this one. Especially if "The Princess and the Frog " is one of your favorite Disney movies.

Book: "What Once Was Mine"
Author: Liz Braswell
Published: 2021
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Tag Line: "What if Rapunzel's mother drank a potion from the wrong flower?"
Series: Disney Twisted Tales/A Twisted Tale
Summary: Daniella is a cancer patient and loves the movie, "Tangled." Daniella is with her brother, Brendan, and he tells her a story about Rapunzel. Instead of the queen drinking from the Sundrop flower, the queen drinks a potion made from the moon drop flower. When Rapunzel is born her hair is silver like the moon instead of golden like the sun. Because of this, Rapunzel's hair doesn't have the power to heal; she has the power to hurt instead. Rapunzel is raised in secret by Gothel in a tower in fear of her hair hurting other people. Well, Rapunzel wants to leave the tower and see the floating lights. She leaves to find Flynn Rider to help her see the lights she so desperately wants to see. Rapunzel meets new characters that help her find out the truth about her past and her hair. She also gets a handle of how to control her hair powers. There is also a new twist that there are people after Rapunzel to use her murder hair. Rapunzel even has to go on a quest to see if her hair magic is tied to the moon.
Well, I have to say that this book took me a while to finish. However, I liked this twisted retelling of Rapunzel. I liked how Rapunzel met Gina and Flynn, how Rapunzel learned how to control her hair, and the magic Rapunzel can do with her hair.
I liked the fact that the twists were unexpecting and threw me for a loop. I kind of wish that Gothel's death was included and that something happened to the sun drop flower.
I don't want to spoil the book even more, so please go check this book out if you haven't done so already.

"go the distance" by jen calonita review
Book: "Go The Distance"
Author: Jen Calonita
Published: 2021
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Tag Line: "What if Meg had to become a Greek god?"
Series: Disney Twisted Tales/A Twisted Tale
Summary: directly after the events of the Disney movie from 1997 "Hercules." However, instead of Hercules becoming mortal to be with Meg, Hercules stays a god and Hera offers Meg a chance to become a god by completing a quest.
What is the quest? Rescue a soul from the underworld. Just not any soul; the soul of the woman who is the now wife of Meg's ex-boyfriend, the same ex she sold her soul to Hades to.
To help Meg on her quest is Pegasus and Philoctetes. Meg also gets from Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena. We also get an appearance from the god of the underworld himself, Hades.
As Meg goes on her quest, we see how Meg met her ex-boyfriend and how she lived before meeting Hercules.
As I do not want to spoil anything for those who have not yet read the book, I will stop summarizing the book. I can say that Meg, Pegasus, and Phil get into some trouble, but they do overcome their obstacles.
I have to say that I wish the book and the 1997 Disney movie were actually accurate.
I know that the movie couldn't be accurate because in the true Greek mythology story, Hera is not Hercules' mother. Hercules is the son of Zeus and a mortal woman. So, in Disney fashion, details were changed.
However, I did like this twisted tale of Meg becoming a Greek god. I kind of wish that the book was a bit longer because I finished the book in like a week; give or take.
"Go The Distance" is an easy read and very fast paced. I just wish that we had the true story of Hercules' parentage. I also wish that the movie went into detail of the 12 labors of Hercules. With that being said, I kind of wish that in the twisted tale, Meg had to go through some labors as well.
I'm not really hating on the movie or the twisted tale, I'm just giving my opinion.
I did like "Go The Distance" and I'm sure to those who love Disney and the 1997 Disney movie, "Hercules," you are going to like this adaptation of Greek mythology and also Meg and Wonder Boy's love story.
8/10.

Alex Stern Books Review
Books: "Ninth House, Hell Bent"
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Published in: 2019 for Ninth House and 2023 for Hell Bent
Book summaries: Ninth House is about Alex Stern's first year at Yale University being a part of a secret society called Lethe House monitoring the other societies to make sure they are doing everything correctly, so they are kept secret. While at Yale, Alex uncovers a murder that may be tied to the societies and does an investigation to see who and what society might have done it. In conjunction with the murder investigation, Alex and her mentor dive into another murder from many years ago to see if they can solve it.
Hell Bent is set a year after the first book. In this book, Alex is working hard with one of her roommates another person from Lethe to find and rescue Alex's mentor from hell; all the while trying to find out who murdered two other professors and doing errands from someone from Alex's past in California.
I have to say that it took me months to read Ninth House but like three weeks or so to read Hell Bent. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to read Ninth House; it just took me ages to read it. But Hell Bent, that was a roller coaster, and I loved every minute of it.
I loved the fact that this series is an adult fantasy series. I like fantasy and I was not disappointed. I have read online that there might be a third book in the series, however, I have not heard anything from the author just yet.
The books might be a little hard to read because the chapters go from the present and then the next chapter is set in the past and so on and so forth. But once you understand what is happening, you won't be able to put the books down until you are done with them.
This series is great for fantasy, adventure, secret societies, and hell. I do have to warn you, the books talk a lot of death, murder, sex, and assault. I recommend this series to people over the age of 18.
8.5/10.

Book: "Unbirthday"
Author: Liz Braswell
Published in: 2020
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Tag Line: "What if Wonderland was in Peril and Alice was very, very, late?"
This Disney twisted tale is centered on "Alice in Wonderland."
In this alternate universe, Alice goes back to Wonderland to save Wonderland and its inhabitants from the Queen of Hearts evil reign while trying to save England from those who wish to get rid of people who "do not belong."
Alice teams up with old friends from Wonderland and some new friends to save Wonderland and England.
The thing about this twisted tale is that Alice can go back and forth from England and Wonderland; however, she can't control when she can go to Wonderland.
I will not lie, it took me quite a while to finish this book. Sometimes when I was reading this book, I got a headache and had to put it down because I couldn't understand some of the words.
But I am a huge fan of Disney. That is the one reasons why I wanted to read this twisted tale. I wanted to see how twisted Alice's story in Wonderland could happen.
What I wish was that one of Alice's Wonderland friends would be the evil twist. I think that would be an exciting twist because who would think of that?
Now, I am not saying that this version was bad. It's not. I just find it to be lacking a little something. I just don't know what it is.
If you like Disney, definitely check out "Unbirthday."

The “Dorothy Must Die” Book Review

2. "The Wicked Will Rise" (2015)
3. "Yellow Brick War" (2016)
4. "The End of Oz" (2017)
Prequel Stories:
1. "No Place Like Oz" (2013)
2. "The Witch Must Burn" (2014)
3. "The Wizard Returns" (2015)
4. "Heart of Tin" (2015)

6. "Ruler of Beasts" (2016)
7. "Order of the Wicked" (2016)
8. "Dark Side of the Rainbow" (2017)
9. "The Queen of Oz" (2017)
Author: Danielle Paige
Summary: A teenaged girl, Amy Gum, is a high schooler from Kansas and gets transported to Oz in the same manner as Dorothy Gale from the story by L. Frank Baum. In Paige's reimagination of Oz, Dorothy is an evil dictator who must be stopped. So, the main character, Amy, joins a faction of witches that dedicated themselves to stopping the evil Dorothy. Along the way, we see what has become of the land of Oz, what has happened to the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow. Will Amy and the faction be able to stop the tyranny that came to Oz? Or will they perish trying to restore Oz to its former glory?
Well, I first got this series after being in a Barnes & Noble. I saw someone else grab it from the shelf and I decided to look up the series. When I saw that it was a sequel to Baum's original series, I decided to get the first two books. I read the first two books and I thought that this was a good retelling of how Dorothy went back to Oz and got swept up in the power of Oz. And I had to get the last two books in the main series as well as the prequel books because I wanted to see how the author was going to end the story of Amy defeating Dorothy, if she could or not.
What I didn't like was the amount of prequel stories. I mean, they did give a good background to how Dorothy became the dictator. Some of the prequels tell the story of what happened to the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion after Dorothy left and came back to Oz and other characters.
I understand the need to give a complete story so there aren't any plot holes when we read the books; but at some point, nine prequel stories for a four-book series are quite much. But this is just my opinion.
I say if you like the world of Oz, and retellings, check out the "Dorothy Must Die" series by Danielle Paige.

Book Review:
I read “Harley Quinn: Reckoning” by Rachael Allen this past weekend.
It is part of the DC Icons series centering on the villain/anti-hero Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn. This is a first in a trilogy centered on Harley.
The book is about an 18-year-old Harley, going by Harleen who is in a science program at Gotham University.
Harley and a few other girls at the university team up and go after people who target and harass girls/others. Well when one girl is poisoned and another dead, Harleen figures out who is behind it so she can stop them while figuring out her future in science.
I liked this book as well as the others. The author includes a lot of science terms but it is written to a point where you can understand what she is saying.
The other underlying plot is showcasing women in science.
The DC Icons series retells heroes and villains in a different light that is amazing.
“Harley Quinn: Reckoning” is a great telling about Harley Quinn and women in science, revenge and, suspense.
I highly recommend!

Book: “So, This Is Love”
Author: Elizabeth Lim
Published: 2020
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
This book is part of the Disney Twisted Tale series centered on Cinderella.
In this version, Cinderella went to the ball, danced with the prince, left one of the glass slippers, but couldn’t try on the glass slipper when the duke went searching for her.
So, in order to escape Lady Tremaine’s abuse, Cinderella manages to escape and meets a maid from the palace who befriends Cinderella. This new friend manages to get Cinderella a job in the palace as a new servant.
On the other hand, the king’s sister, Duchess Genevieve, returns to the palace and the Grand Duke assigns Cinderella to be the Duchess’s new maid and the Duke has Cinderella pose as a spy to uncover what the Duchess is doing to use it against her.
All the while, there is an undercover plot that is happening, and it is up to Cinderella to stop it before the kingdom is destroyed.
As with the other books in the series, “So This Is Love” is a fresh retelling of a beloved Disney movie with new characters that you will come to love.
I have to say, while the Disney movie version was not my favorite, I liked the retelling a bit more because instead of Cinderella getting a happily ever after by trying on the slipper, she had escaped the abuse of her stepmother and worked in the palace to make a better life for herself.
While I enjoyed this retelling, I couldn’t help but wonder that Cinderella could have brought down the bad guy by getting help earlier in the book. If she had suspicions, she could have told a friend and they could have solved the case and brought the bad guy down faster.
My rating: 8.7/10

In the book, Elsa and Anna didn’t know each other existed and Elsa didn’t know she had magical ice and snow powers. When the king and queen get lost at sea, Elsa regains her powers and memories of Anna come rushing in. Now to figure out her memories, Elsa goes in search for her missing sister.
On the other hand, Anna has been living with her adoptive parents in the countryside baking for a living. Anna has a feeling that she needs to leave the countryside for the kingdom of Arendelle. She also has a feeling that she has to help someone that she has never met. So, when the kingdom is frozen by Elsa, Anna takes it as an opportunity to find out why she has these feelings, but she feels that she is the only one who can stop the weather Elsa created.
Now Anna and Elsa are on a search for each other through the snow and ice to find each other and end the endless snow and get answers to why they were separated.
I love Disney movies. I liked the movie. The book was a good retelling with a small twist. However, I do have something that I would change.
The one thing that I would change is: what if Anna had the ice and snow powers instead of Elsa? Like, swap the powers from one sister to the other and see what happens? I think that this twist would capture readers more to see what would happen.
Overall, the book is good. If you are a fan of Disney and like the twisted tale series, definitely get “Conceal, Don’t Feel” by Jen Calonita.
Book rating 8.5/10
Would recommend.

I recently finished "Straight On Till Morning" by Liz Braswell.
It's about if Wendy went to Neverland with Captain Hook instead of Peter Pan.
In this twisted tale, Wendy sells out Peter Pan's shadow to Hook in order to get away from her household and to Neverland.
Well, Captain Hook has his own schemes for wanting the shadow and wants Peter Pan to perish.
To make up for selling out the shadow, Wendy teams up with the fairy, Tinker Bell to find Peter Pan, the shadow and stop the pirates.
What she doesn't expect is the adventures she and Tinker Bell must go through to retrieve the shadow and stop Hook and his pirates from destroying Neverland.
Wendy and Tinker Bell encounter new and old characters from Neverland and must figure how to save their beloved land all while trying not to kill each other.
"Straight On Till Morning" is part of the Disney Twisted Tale series centered on various Disney movies with a new twist. All the books in this series are written by different authors and can be read independently.
"Straight On Till Morning" is a thick book. It took me a while to read this book, but I enjoyed reading this twist. I loved seeing the characters in a new light and the spin was something unexpected.
I rate this book 9.2/10. I definitely recommend this book and series to anyone who loves a good retelling of their favorite Disney stories!
